HOW TO FIX: I had to many filters to let them go to waste so, I brought the one piece' white plastic version and wrapped some Clear Silicone Rubber Sealant around the nozzle leak area and it has worked fine. The only problem is that you can't take the filter off of the faucet when you have to change the filter, but it's better than letting the extra filter go to waste.

After nearly 3 years, and being on my third one of this model, I gave up. The product folks at Pur are nice enough to send a voucher for a replacement and each one of these developed leaks over time. I think the water quality was ok, but the continual degradation of the seals on these led to leaks in each one. I have moved onto the Culligan model, which is cheaper and of better quality. Even the water tastes better. Save yourself the aggravation and money - Avoid this filter system.

I've experienced the same leakage as others--water running from between the bottom of the black nut and the top of its housing. However, I did some things that seem to have resolved the problem. I removed the screened washer from the opening in the black nut, and replaced it with the simple black washer that came in the clear accessories package. The tip of my faucet--that I had to affix to the bottom of the unit--already had a screen. Next, I add "Tread Seal Tape" to all "male-end" treaded fittings before attaching any parts to them. At this point, you should check to see if the leakage has ceased. Oh, I also cautiously used a wrench to ensure the fittings were tight (do this at your own risk).

Since I must attach a portable dishwasher to my faucet, I went for overkill. I worked "Tread Seal Tape" between the black nut and the top of the housing, and tightly covered it with a small, wide rubber band.

No more leaks...yet. I had the Tread Seal Tape on hand, but it can be purchase in any hardware store. The rubber band came attached to a bunch of supermarket broccoli, but I guess that most stationary stores would carry them.

Yeah, a little work, but I'm retired and it beats paying postage.
